Q UESTIONS

 

Do we need to have a wedding/event planner?

Yes, PVB clients are required to engage the services of a full-service, partial-service or day-of professional event planner/coordinator to be on-site for the duration of the event.

Does the venue include parking?

Yes, our venue fee includes complimentary parking for up to 30 cars. Valet service is available (additional fee)

 

Does the venue provide security?

Yes, PVB provides one security officer from the guest arrivals until the last guest is off-site. Additional security is the responsibility of the client.

Does the venue fee include rehearsal time, photo sessions?

Yes, the venue is available for ceremony rehearsal (1 hour) and portrait photography (2 hours) included in the venue fee. Engagement and bridal photography sessions can be divided into two (2) one-hour sessions.

Is there a room to get ready in?

Yes, PVB clients have access to a private and lovely room perfect for Wedding Party Quarters or Green Room that is equipped with a professional hair and make-up station and private bathroom.

Are tables and chairs included?

Yes, PVB clients have access to: one hundred (100) folding chairs, twenty (20) low cocktail tables, 10 (10) 60” round banquet tables, three (3) 6’ banquet tables, three (3) 8’ banquet tables, five (5) 30” round bar tables.


When can we get there?

The typical wedding event schedule of arrivals: Make-up/Hair (10:30am), clients and vendors (11am-1pm), guests (3-5pm). The earliest arrival for Hair and Make-up vendors is 7:30am, and the event ending time would be adjusted accordingly. Non-wedding special events and live performances follow a similar arrival schedule.

Do we need event insurance?

Yes, all PVB clients are required to purchase a basic event insurance policy listing the venue (the Penthouse on Venice Beach as additional insured from their own provider or from a PVB approved event insurance entity such as www.wedsafe.com.

When do we have to end?

Music must end outdoors by 11pm on weekends and 10pm on weekdays. All guests must be off-site by 12am. Vendors have until 1am to be off-property.

 

Do we have to use the vendors from your list?

Catering/bar service, event lighting/audio-visual, floral/event design vendors are exclusive to the venue. However, all other vendors that appear in our most recent preferred vendor list are recommendations with our highest endorsements, and PVB clients may bring in all other non-exclusive vendors of their choosing.

Is livestreaming events and performances available?

Yes, state-of-the-art livestreaming cameras have been installed throughout the rooftop, so your event can be shared with everyone. Additional fees apply.

What do I need to do to book a date?

A 50% deposit and a fully executed contract is required to book a date and remove it from the calendar. The remaining 50% is due 60 days prior to the event.

 

Can we bring our own alcohol?

PVB clients are required to arrange the service of alcohol with one of our most recently listed catering or bar service partners covered by a current minimum liquor liability insurance policy of $2M and staffed by bartenders properly licensed by the State of California.

What is the maximum guest count?

100 Guests.

Is there an A/V System?

Yes, PVB has one of the most state-of-the-art Audio-Visual systems available with its own devoted control room and is designed to contain the sound as much as possible to the rooftop. You can make it as simple as a DJ or party band plugging into the A/V system or PVB can provide a professional sound crew available for an additional fee. Either way, your guests will be blown away…literally! No outside speakers or A/V equipment are allowed to be used at the venue, and DJ’s are required to use the venue sound system. One sound engineer is included with the venue rental fee. Professional sound crews are available for an additional fee.


Are pets allowed?

Generally, no. But we will consider pets on a case-by-case basis because we understand that they are family. Additional fees and/or deposit may apply.

Can I hold a date?

We do not hold dates at PVB, but we will offer the first client to tour the first right of refusal for up to 7 days if specifically requested at the conclusion of their tour.

What is the plan in case of rain?

PVB has an on-site tenting contingency plan in place.

How far is it from the airport?

By car, PVB lies 15-20 minutes directly north of LAX.

 

If we are only hiring a day-of coordinator, do we have to come out with the layout?

We can create a perfect custom layout for your wedding or event and have plenty of experience doing so. This service is included in the venue rental fee.

What if I need to cancel an Event?

50% of the initial deposit is refundable if the event is canceled more than 6 months from the booking date. If canceled within less than 6 months, this deposit is forfeit in its entirety. Any remaining payment will be due to PVB if canceled within 8 weeks of the event date.

 
 

Do the tables need linens? Are they included?

The banquet tables are included and require linens. Linens are not included in the venue rental fee. But we can help you select, order, receive, lay down, pull, then return your linens for you with one of our partner/vendors at La Tavola Linens (www.latavolalinen.com) and BBJ Linens, (www.bbjlinens.com), and, of course, help you order the right size for each table. A 20% design fee is applicable to the total linen invoice for this service.

 
 

Are children allowed?

Of course! But minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Live performances and events may impose their own age restrictions.

Is there a fee for using a credit card or personal check?

Credit card payments incur a 2% additional fee. Personal or cashier’s checks incur no additional charges.

Do we need a dance floor or a stage?

No, the entire rooftop is a stage, and our floors, like your shoes, were made for dancing.
